Karen is a specialist dyslexia assessor and tutor based in Maidstone, Kent, offering professional assessments, tailored tuition, and expert guidance.
With over 25 years of experience in both primary and secondary education, Karen has worked extensively as a teacher and SENCO across mainstream and specialist settings. She previously spent nine years as Lead Teacher for the specialist speech and language resource provision at Minterne Junior School and The Oaks Infant School in Sittingbourne, Kent.
Karen has a strong track record of supporting children with a wide range of needs, including dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, autism, and ADHD, as well as those without additional needs. Her broad experience, combined with an up-to-date understanding of current classroom practice, allows her to provide clear, accurate, and practical recommendations for children with dyslexic profiles.
She is dedicated to ensuring that every individual receives the right support to build confidence and achieve their full learning potential.
Qualifications
An APC (Assessment Practising Certificate) is what underpins a dyslexia assessor's qualifications and competence enabling them to undertake full diagnostic assessments for dyslexia.
Memberships
She is a member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA).
